Today marks a special moment—the official launch of Friend Aura, an app I've been quietly building over the past couple of weeks. It's a private space where you can track, remember, and honor the connections that have shaped your story.

What Makes Friend Aura Special

Your data belongs to you. Friend Aura doesn't require an account, doesn't collect your data, and doesn't track what you do. Everything stays on your device and syncs privately through your own iCloud account.

Lock the app with a PIN to keep your connections private. No one sees your entries unless you choose to share them. (Face ID support coming in the next update!)

2. Aura Numbers & The Boost System

Rate each connection with an aura score—typically out of 10, but you can use any number that feels right. Want to go deeper? Use the boost system to unlock mystical, "forbidden" aura numbers that add a layer of playful energy to your entries.

The first 10 boosts are free. After that, you can unlock more through in-app purchase or discover hidden Easter eggs throughout the app for free boosts. (Yes, there are secrets waiting for those who pay attention.)

3. Beautiful, Customizable Themes

Your vibe, your aesthetic. Friend Aura comes with 9 stunning themes ranging from soft and minimal to neon and nocturnal. Choose the one that matches your mood:

The Journey: From Idea to Launch in 2.5 Weeks

The idea for Friend Aura came to me on November 7, 2025. I was thinking about how people track meaningful moments in their lives, and I realized there was a gap—a need for something private, beautiful, and non-judgmental.

I started coding that same day.

Over the next 1.5 weeks, I built the first version of the app. Then came another week of polishing, bug fixing, and testing. Today, just 21 days later, Friend Aura is live.

This is what I love about building apps: taking an idea and turning it into something real, something people can use and feel connected to.

As a 40-year-old digital nomad, I've learned that the best projects are the ones you build quickly, ship confidently, and iterate based on real feedback. Friend Aura is the first app in what I hope becomes a small ecosystem of tools for people who think differently, feel deeply, and don't fit into mainstream productivity culture.
